EHIMA Reports Growth in Professionally Fitted Hearing-Aid Sales in 2024
The European Hearing Instrument Manufacturers Association (EHIMA) reported that its member companies sold 22.69 million hearing aids in 2024, a 4% increase from 2023. These are aggregate member-company sales of professionally fitted devices, not a count of individual users or proof of improved health outcomes.
EHIMA interpreted the increase as a sign of growing attention to hearing health, modern hearing technology and access to professional care. The association also connected it with efforts toward earlier identification and support for hearing loss. Sales growth alone cannot establish which factors caused the change.
Newly elected EHIMA president Peter Karlströmer welcomed increased use of hearing aids. He said member companies would continue technology development and support public-health efforts aimed at earlier diagnosis and care.
